Kaiser Permanente is one of the nation’s largest health plans, serving more than 8.9M members. KP launched their nationwide, departmental BC program in 2001 implementing 6,000 plans. A key element of KP’s program design was placing responsibility in the hands of managers to “own” their plan with support from a central BC professional team. Today, nine years later, KP’s BC program thrives, now with over 10,000 plans. About the Speaker: As the Program Manager responsible for the Enterprise Recovery service, Cheryl LaTouche works with SCO clients (internal Business Units) to deliver enterprise recovery DR services. She also works with internal resources and external DR vendors to manage the delivery of these services.
LaTouche comes to McKesson with over 15 years of experience as a leader in the business continuity/disaster recovery field. She has deep experience with implementing and directing large scale, best practice business continuity programs and leading cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive business continuity plans.
Before joining McKesson, she worked for over 10 years at Kaiser Permanente, where she led the national (corporate) business continuity program in collaboration with executive, national, local leadership and regional business continuity governance councils. She managed a team of five certified business continuity consultants that partnered with 75 local matrix-managed business continuity leads to achieve program objectives.
LaTouche previously worked at Charles Schwab where she supported business units in developing, implementing and monitoring recovery plans. She helped implement an eight-phase business continuity management plan and program that covered 26,300 employees, 13 worldwide business enterprise divisions, the company headquarters, 274 branch offices, 8,000 workstations at four call centers, the automated telephone systems and online brokerage services.
LaTouche is a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), a member of the Business Recovery Managers Association (BRMA) and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
