Back to School Safe with National Preparedness Month

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – back to school!!!  This week our National Preparedness Month coverage focuses on personal preparedness, with an emphasis on families and children. FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) put together an entire interactive website for children to learn about being prepared. It’s called  Ready Kids and is a great resource for children, as well as parents and teachers to prepare for emergencies.

Are you and your family prepared? This school year, make sure that you and your children are prepared for any and all types of emergencies. Play the interactive “Build a Kit” game on the FEMA website to be sure that you know exactly what should and should not be in your emergency tool kit. This isn’t just for school age children either, even college kids, and adults can learn from these activities.

And be sure to follow DRI on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn this month as we update you on different tools, tips, and tricks to help keep you prepared.
