Supply chain failure ranks as the primary threat to U.S. and Canadian businesses as they expand their operations overseas, according to a survey by Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.
The top threats, based on the responses of 300 senior execs:
- Supply chain failure (19%)
- Data breach/cyber event (15%)
- Government/regulatory investigation and political instability (tied at 13%), and
- Natural catastrophe (12%).
But more worrying is what those companies plan — or don’t plan — to do about their biggest concerns. Only 56% of these businesses have a continuity plan in place that addresses overseas supply chain risks, and 22% of those have never actually tested it! For more, click here.
