We’re sure you can hardly wait to get to San Antonio this coming March — but if you’re like many travelers, you’re not so excited about the plane ride, which can be an exhausting experience. If you’re not crazy about flying either, don’t sweat it — we’ve found some great ways to cope with long plane trips.
Create Your Travel Kit — One nice perk of flying business class is the amenity kit handed out by some airlines. Even if you’re not springing for business class, you can still collect a handy kit that includes:
- Glasses case (if you wear glasses, of course)
- Blow-up pillow
- Moisturizer (to combat the dry air in the cabin)
Stay Hydrated — One reason people feel so exhausted at the end of a flight is the dehydration caused by that dry cabin air. Drink plenty of water, or better yet something with electrolytes, like Gatorade (which means a few more bathroom trips, so try to get an aisle seat!).
Combat Deep Vein Thrombosis — One more good reason for an aisle seat: It will give you more chances to take a walk or stretch your legs, to avoid the formation of blood clots, a risk that increases with flights longer than four hours.
