Looking for the best place to pick up some local culture — and some souvenirs? Stop by the shopping destination known as the biggest Mexican market outside of Mexico: Historic Market Square.
With over 100 locally owned shops and stalls, the market (also known as El Mercado) offers a wide variety of products, including authentic Mexican artifacts and curios, hand-crafted leather goods, pottery and glasswork, original artwork, and much more.
It’s also the place to go for some world-famous Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. Stop by La Margarita or Mi Tierra Cafe for food, drinks, and nightlife, or tour the culinary offerings at the Farmer’s Market Food Court.
You may even be in town in time to enjoy one of the many events the market hosts — from car shows to salsa dance festivals!
