DRI Young Leaders in Resilience: Join This Volunteer Day Event!

VolunteerJoin the DRI Young Leaders in Resilience for a special Volunteer Day event on Saturday, July 16 to help communities affected by Hurricane Sandy! Many Rockaway families are still struggling to get back into their homes and return to their daily lives. All projects will be construction-related, ranging from small repairs to new rebuilds. This may include site preparation, hanging insulation or drywall, mudding, sanding, texturing, priming, painting, laying floors, hanging trim, doors and baseboard, and/or preparing the home for homeowners to move in.

When: Saturday, July 16
Where: Brooklyn, NY (details to follow)
Time: All day
Cost: Suggested $100 donation to the DRI Foundation
We will present our combined contributions to Friends of Rockaway on the day of the event.

Additional Information
The DRI Foundation would like to make opportunities to give back to the community accessible to everyone with a 50% off registration discount. Remember, it’s fully tax-deductible.

The Foundation will provide transportation to the site from a location closer to public transportation (TBA), lunch, water, and a t-shirt for you to wear on the day of the event. A DRI Foundation representative will contact you with more information and for your t- shirt size.

Due to the nature of construction and the varying skill levels of volunteer groups, construction tasks are not assigned until the week prior to arrival.
