Cloud solutions are growing more and more popular for businesses – and one third of them are using them to improve their continuity efficiency. What challenges do they face?
According to a survey of IT and security decision-makers across multiple industries, 70% of organization have at least one application in the cloud as part of their efforts to focus on business efficiencies. Among the top reasons:
- Lower total cost of ownership – 42%
- Replacing on-premises legacy technology – 35%, and
- Enabling business continuity – 33%.
These organizations aren’t stopping there – they’re exploring additional applications they can move to the cloud within the next three years, with data storage/management and business/data analytics the most popular potential options.
However, they’re still wary of how the cloud will impact their security concerns, as well as becoming locked in with certain vendors. Sensitivity of data ranked as a critical or very important consideration for 82% of respondents, and 73% have adopted at least one cloud security component.
